about last guitars

My name is Shad Interligi and like so many stories nowadays, this one started during the Covid Lockdowns of 2020. Seeking some calm and distraction I decided to dive into a lifelong curiosity—designing and assembling guitars. With over 30 years of guitar playing experience and 15 years as a founder and owner of another company, I utilized this “extra focus time” in NY/USA/Earth to explore this craft. Amidst balancing roles as a father, husband, and e’hem educator, and working to revive my original company, I found peace in this creative endeavor.
Follow my journey, shared through pictures, words, and guitar noodling, on Instagram. The four images you see above are the most recent posts. YouTube page is here.

Its not so much that this is the last guitar as much as its the only guitar and the last time we will build it that way.

The Frankenstrat, also called "Frankie," is a guitar made by Eddie Van Halen and it lives at the CORE of what we are trying to do with LAST guitars. Its name combines Frankenstein, who made a monster from body parts, and the Stratocaster, an electric guitar by Fender. EVH's influence started the guitar-making journey that endures here at LAST GUITARS and while we (nor anyone else) can even come close to replicating the magic of EVH, we at least want to take the craft of guitar-building to a fun and creative place in the spirit of making music.
